Urban Decay Sale on Hautelook!

It's official...I'm probably the worst blogger in the world. After buying a house and then jumping back in to school full time, I've just lost my way when it comes to blogging. I really miss it, though, so I'm going to try and slowly get back into it. Not that I was in full force or anything. LOL!

Anyways, I thought I would let you all know that Hautelook is now having a sale on Urban Decay. There are a few items for under $10 and I got a set that has five 24/7 eyeliners for $19. Not too shabby!

The sale won't last long, so if you're interested...make sure you check that out!

It's been way too long!!

I'm so sorry for being so absent lately. I promise I have a good reason, though!!

Jason and I FINALLY closed on our home and moved in! YAYY! I am so excited and absolutely LOVE it here! I have already repainted the kitchen and bought a chandelier for the dining room. We have so much to do and I don't even know where to start! I know we have all the time in the world to get things how we want it, but I'm just way too impatient! I absolutely LOVE decorating and can't stop looking at different decor websites and adding things to my wishlist.

The good thing is that I discovered ebates! For those of you who don't know about it yet, when you shop through ebates, you get cash back! Each store has a different cash back percentage, but I do most of my shopping online and this has definitely saved me some money already!! The good thing is that it's free and they actually GIVE YOU $5 just to sign up! Awesomeeee!!

Here is the link so you can check it out:

Anyways, I promise I will have some new posts up for you guys soon and that I won't slack anymore!! I already have a few things lined up and I'm excited to get back into my blog again!!

Which Skincare Product Do I Use First?!

Image from Google Images

Many women are paying more attention to their skin and want to have a nice routine...but are you utilizing your products to their fullest potential? If used incorrectly, many of your expensive face creams will not perform as well as you had hoped. I was researching things about skincare on the interwebz and I stumbled across a great dermatology blog that had a very informative post about which skincare products you should use in a particular order.

As easy and nice as it would be, just slabbing on your creams and serums all at one time in no particular order is not the best thing to do and you will likely be wasting your money on some often very expensive products. Here is the order that The Dermatology Blog suggests:

1. Toners

Toners, or astringents, are used to remove the excess oil and contract your pores, making your skin feel tighter. This is why you should use a toner first. Since toners contain alcohol, they will also most likely make your skin feel dry, so people with dry and sensitive skin may want to skip a toner all together.

2. Serums

Serums contain antioxidants and peptides to minimize damage done to your skin and to help give you a more youthful appearance. Serums should be the first product applied to your freshly cleaned/toned skin so that there is nothing between their expensive ingredients and your skin. The only exception to this are serums that contain silicone or dimethicone because silicone helps lock in moisture and provides a barrier on your skin. If this is the case, then your serum should be applied last.

3. Eye Cream and Face Cream

These count as moisturizers and anti-aging products. Since eye creams usually have antioxidants to restore your delicate skin, you should apply these before you apply your face cream. If you apply your face cream first and accidentally rub some over this delicate skin, not only is it too heavy for your under eye area, but your eye creams will not be absorbed properly and will not be as effective. Once everything else has been applied, you should apply your face cream last, with the exception of your serum being silicone based.

I found this very helpful and thought I would share with you lovely ladies and skin care enthusiasts. I know I was a little iffy about whether I was applying all of my face products in the correct way or order and found this article extremely helpful. You can visit the actual article here.

Note: If you have any prescription face products, those should be applied first after you clean/tone your skin.

Circle Lenses Review: Geo Princess Mimi Sesame Grey

Hello my lovely followers!! I'm back with yet another circle lens review for you all! This time I will be reviewing the much anticipated Geo Princess Mimi lenses in Sesame Grey. As many of you know, these lenses were previously released as the Bambi series and now GEO has re-released them as the Princess Mimi series. These lenses were designed by the famous Japanese gyaru Tsubasa Masuwaka and as soon as people started seeing pictures of her wearing them, everyone wanted them immediately!

I decided to purchase my lenses from www.fobbybarbie.com because I knew that they were based out of the US and they are also having a sale on the Princess Mimi lenses for $17.99 with free shipping!! For those of you who have been keeping an eye on these lenses, you know that this is an amazing deal. These lenses generally retail for anywhere between $25-$30, plus shipping. Not only were the lenses cheap, but the shipping was SUPER FAST! I ordered my lenses late on a Friday night, I received an email Monday morning saying they had been shipped, and I received them in the mail on Thursday. Now, keep in mind that if your lenses are not stocked in their US warehouse, then they will be shipped from Asia...so shipping is not going to be that fast. Otherwise, my lenses were shipped out of Washington. I know that this sale is still going on, but as of today the Princess Mimi series won't be shipped out until July 10th. I'm not sure if they are waiting for a batch to come in and want to wait after the holidays or what, but the sale is still valid! ^.^

My contacts came in a manilla enveloped like the one pictured below. My address and their name/address has been blacked out for privacy purposes!

And inside were the contact lens vials wrapped up in bubble wrap. My vials may look different than what you've seen, but that's because mine were shipped from the US. I know that GEO is trying to get FDA approved, so if your GEO lenses are being shipped fromt he US then they will have a Magic Color label and you won't get a sticker for authenticity. Not to worry, though! You're lenses are still 100% authentic. ^.^

One thing I do have to complain about, though, is that FobbyBarbie does not send any sort of contact lens case. I mean, this isn't a huge deal since you can buy them cheaply at pretty much any drugstore or grocery store, but most places usually provide that. I guess for the price, though...I'm not going to complain too much!! XD

Anyways, on to the lens pictures!!

Enlargement: 10/10  These lenses are 15mm...which is hugeee!
Comfort: 8/10   I was really hesitant at first because normally I can't wear GEO lenses for more then 2-3 hours, but these were surprisingly really comfortable...especially for their size! I could wear these for 6 hours with only needing some eye drops once or twice.
Color/Design: 9/10   Only because the pupil hole is a tad large for my liking. I think if my eyes were a tad bit darker then I would like them more. Other than that, I looveee these lenses! The color is fantastic and I love the design. <3
Overall:
9/10  I only deducted points for the fact that I do need some eyedrops with these and that I wish my eye color was darker or that the pupil hole was smaller. Otherwise, these are perfect and I really want to try the green and brown now!

Now I shall post some camwhoring pictures. ^.^

And one of me with Moo Shoe for good measure. <3

I also posted a YouTube video with some general comments and me wearing the lenses if you want to check that out!

I hope that you enjoyed this and that it was helpful to those who are considering these lenses or www.fobbybarbie.com. I highly recommend them both! ^.^

My June Birchbox!

Hello my lovely followers!! :)

So I FINALLY received my June Birchbox!! I'm sure many of you have already seen what others have gotten because, for some reason, I received mine like 2 weeks later than everyone else. Ugh! That's okay, though, because this month's Birchbox is AMAZING! And I know I am posting this at the very end of the month, but like always, I wanted to be able to do a proper review for you all!

This month's theme for the Birchbox was "Jetsetter" and contained things that are supposed to be travel friendly and great to take on vacation! As always, everything was so neatly and cutely wrapped. I always love the packaging!

Now, I didn't take individual pictures of each product since you can see them all in the picture above. The only product I took an extra photo of is the blush so you can see the color in more detail. With that being said, I will still review each of the individual products for you in the order of the product card included on the box.

Kate Spade Twirl

This fragrance is marketed as being a carefree and joyful scent that is perfect to wear on adventures at home and abroad. I must say that I completely agree with that statement!! This fragrance is so light and just smells so cheerful. I'm not sure how something could smell cheerful, but Kate Spade definitely made it happen! I love wearing this on sunny days out shopping and when I'm feeling particularly perky. The full sized bottles range from $65 for 1.7 fl oz. bottle and $80 for the 3.4 fl oz bottle. For the price, I will stick with my favorite Gucci Flora scent, but this is definitely something I could see myself wearing!

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil Free Lotion

Kiehl's let all of Birchbox's customers try this moisturizer before they even release it in stores, which is pretty cool. I have to say, though...I wouldn't pay the full price for it. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or not, but after using this for a few days, my face went into full breakout mode. I even got a HUGE cystic type zit on my chin that is STILL there after a week and a half. NOT HAPPY! However, after my skin goes back to normal I am definitely going to try this again just to see if it was a coincidence. Let me tell you...if I break out like that again...I DEFINITELY be letting you all know to run away from this product like it's the plague. I'm thinking it was just a coincidence, though, because I have read some really good things about this from other Birchbox customers. Even if I did like this product, I still wouldn't want to pay the full price tag for it. A 125ML bottle of this moisturizer is $24.50. That's much more expensive than my HG Clinique moisturizer that I love so much!

Laura Geller Baked Blush N' Brighten

Okay...this is what made this Birchbox so darn amazing! Everyone received a FULL SIZED Laura Geller blush! That alone is justifies my purchase. A full sized 0.32 oz blush is normally $29.50...and I paid $10 for my whole Birchbox. Anyways, on to the review!

I got the shade Apricot Berry, which is a very pretty bronzy color. They say you can use the lighter shade as a highlighter, but I don't really have enough light color on mine to try that out. As a blush, though, I really like this color. It almost looks like a bronzer on me, but gives me just enough color to be an amazing blush for the summer! I feel like it is a bit too shimmery of a color for the winter, though. I guess we will see how I feel when the time comes!! I'm sorry I didn't think at the time to do a swatch. Maybe if I remember I can edit this post with one later.

Xen-Tan Deep Bronze Luxe

For some reason beyond my comprehension, Birchbox decided to send this self tanner to me in the shade "Dark." I have seen some other fair-medium skinned ladies say that they had the same problem, so I don't know if everyone got the same shade. To be honest...I haven't tried this yet. It just scares me way too much. The whole "Dark" thing is what makes me think I'm going to come out looking like a basketball. I have heard really awesome things about this self tanner, though, so I think I'm going to have to suck it up and go for it! I want to try and get one of those self tanner gloves first, though. I guess I can always do a spot check in an inconspicuous area. The full sized 8 fl oz product sells for $39....yikes! No matter how well I like this product, I think I will stick with my gradual Jergens Natural Glow self tanner that is $7!

Herban Essentials Orange Towelettes

"Infused with pure orange oil, these little guys are detoxifying, germ-killing, and mood-perking."

I know, I know...I'm the worst blogger ever right now...but I haven't tried these either. Call me crazy, but orange towelettes are the most exciting thing in the world. However, I do like that they kill germs naturally instead of being infused with a million chemicals! 20 towelettes retail for $15...YIKES! I know they are natural...but I just use a pack of Wet Ones for $.99!

Anyways, I'm really sorry for slacking lately and that this review/haul isn't as detailed as I would have liked. Things have been crazy with my fiance and I buying a house. We were actually supposed to go sign the final papers and get the keys handed over today, but the sellers had to push back THEIR closing date on the house they are moving into, thus pushing back ours. Blah! I was really bummed, but we only have to wait until July 7th. I'm going to try and push out all of the reviews and things I wanted to get done before then since I don't know how soon I can get th internet when we move. Please hang in there for me...I promise I'm not abandoning ship! I love this and my followers too much!! :) <3
